How can teeth be whitened?

No two smiles are alike. Although we generally think of teeth as being white, there are many natural shades of tooth enamel that range from bright white and bluish-gray to yellow. Genetics play a role in the color of a person's teeth and how quickly tooth enamel may get discolored.

In addition to genetics, teeth may become discolored or stained as a result of medications, aging, smoking, accidents, certain foods and beverages or a combination of these.

Teeth-whitening procedures use a peroxide gel alone or in combination with a light source to help remove most staining agents. Dr. Alouf will evaluate your teeth and help you determine whether any of our whitening procedures are right for you.
