What are dental veneers?

Dental veneers are thin pieces of porcelain used to re-create the natural look of teeth. Porcelain veneers provide strength and can correct tooth color, shape, size, and/or slight position alterations. Porcelain veneers are bonded to the front surface of teeth. Porcelain veneers are stain resistant and keep their color over time. Veneers generally last five to 10 years with regular dental care.

Porcelain veneers are routinely used to fix teeth:

  • That are discolored
  • Teeth that are worn down
  • Teeth that are chipped or broken
  • Teeth that are misaligned, uneven, or irregularly shaped
  • Teeth with gaps between them
