Who we refer to and why

At Alouf Aesthetic Dentistry we do treatment start to finish. Dr. Alouf will extract the tooth, place the implant to replace the tooth root, and then make the crown for complete replacement of the tooth. Dr. Alouf also does extractions and root canals in house. Our dental hygienists do periodontal treatments and maintenance.

We don’t often refer to specialists but when we do it’s because Dr. Alouf feels it is the best option for long term dental health and successful treatment. Dr. Alouf has a wide array of knowledge in all areas of clinical dentistry. Dental specialists focus on a specific piece of dentistry.

We refer to several dental specialists including:

The oral and maxillofacial surgeon is the specialty which includes the diagnosis and treatment of diseases, injuries, and defects involving both functional and aesthetic aspects of the hard and soft tissue of the head. Oral surgeons are responsible for treating a variety of dental issues including extractions, placement of implants, and reconstructive facial surgery.

Orthodontists are specially trained dentists who specialize in the development, prevention, and correction of irregularities of the teeth, bite, and jaw. They correct crooked, misaligned teeth.

Periodontics is the specialty that includes the prevention, diagnosis, and treatment of the tissues supporting and surrounding the teeth, gums and bone.

The prosthodontist is a dental specialist who has additional training in the placement of crowns, bridges, or dentures to replace missing or broken teeth.

Endodontists have extra training in performing root canal therapy. This specialty is concerned with the individual tooth and the tissues at the root tip.

Pediatric dentistry is the oral care of children, from infancy through the teenage years. They recognize and treat dental problems specific to children.

Going to see a stranger for a procedure you would rather not do is difficult. New office, more paperwork to fill out and then another appointment. When Dr. Alouf refers you to a specialist he is saying, “I’m putting you in the best hands possible to handle this procedure. Your health and well-being is important to me.” Dr. Alouf refers to specialists he would use for his own family. You come to Aa Dentistry for the best, so Dr. Alouf will only refer to the best.
